The Story . . .

When our founder, Maryellen Murphy, a marketing and communications director for a large financial services company, was asked to plan the annual
holiday party, arranging details for the dinner was relatively easy. A far greater challenge was coming up with a fun and exciting idea to help stimulate
conversations among a cross section of employees (from the mail room to the boardroom) whose paths were unlikely to have crossed during the year . . .
only to find themselves seated together for a formal corporate dinner. Sophisticated, yet fun; an understated icebreaker that could be used at the guests'
discretion whenever conversation waned at the table . . . complementary to the table decor (no plastic game pieces or tchotchkes here) and, seeing as how it
was a holiday party, seasonal would be very nice.

Using an assortment of office stationery and wrapping paper, Maryellen created decorative table tent style cards with trivia questions about classic
holiday movies and placed several different ones on each table at the party. In no time at all, guests noticed the handcrafted cards and begin to read and
ask each other the questions, creating conversations among acquaintances, competition among peers and nostalgic memories among friends. In fact, the
company's CEO asked if he could bring the table tent about his favorite holiday movie back to New York! Seeing the enthusiasm that the table tents
created for the guests as well as the interesting visual they added to the table setting, Maryellen decided to make a few that would match her holiday color
scheme at home to add an interesting twist to her family's dinner celebration.

And from that, the concept of Table Tent Trivia was born.
